"The small love gules" (1982-1991)

Facial expressions and character of individuals…

Activities, work, defects or the vicissitudes of life does not end in of chiseling our face, and thereby determine types very marked in their physiognomies, their characters or their social memberships. Fascinated by these wrinkles that turn our face book open to the eyes of all, I watch this fold of the eyes or the rictus of mouth coming to betray the soul, to reveal what lies beyond exterior appearances.

You can blame me to portray a world that is rather ugly to the physical or moral. It is true that I am disturbed by all these characters that lie at the boundary of humans, on the uncertain fringe of wickedness, cynicism or stupidity…

Of course, these little friendly people, these are necessarily the others, our neighbors, our loved ones… But regardless of the similarity, identity or personal history, physical decline is at the end of the course.
